- The Pyramid of Qemaw -
Canopic equipment bearing the name of Qemaw, a king of the early 13th Dynasty, was found inside the badly damaged substructure of a now barely visible pyramid that was built near the southeast rim of Lake Dashur.
The pyramid's base was about 50 long, its original height unknown.
The entrance to the substructure was located slightly off-center in the east of the pyramid. A passage leads west to a room opening to the north. A first stairway leads down north to a small chamber, where a second stairway descends further down to the west.
The burial chamber, carved of a single block, is located to the south, almost in the pyramid's central axis.
In view of the short reign that is usually assigned to Qemaw, it is not unlikely that this king usurped a funerary monument that was started by one of his predecessors.
